Hello everyone, I am here today with some very sad news. I am currently enrolled in a music conservatory in Germany but because of my Youtube activity (which I kept a secret from everyone), my practice time for classical musical has drastically decreased and my piano professor has also noticed that. I admitted that I was playing "Anime pop music" in my free time, and my piano professor told me to either take classical piano music seriously and cease all the "nonsense" activities, or he won't teach me anymore.

After hearing this I was really heartbroken, but I can understand his point. I am here to study classical music after all and "Anime piano music" will never be acknowledged by professionals. It was really hard but after thinking for a long time, I thought that quitting Youtube to focus on my studies was the better choice.

But I want to do one last arrangement before I depart from Youtube because I wanted the world to hear my piano music, wanted to leave something behind. So I created a special piano cover of My Dearest, the first opening of Guilty Crown.

This is one of my longest and technically most demanding pieces I've ever written and I've used all my musical knowledge to create this piece. I took a new approach and added many original materials to make the piano cover not sound like a piano cover, but as a standalone piano piece. With other words, I wanted to create a bridge between the classical music world and the pop music world. It's a summary of my love for the Anime piano and I wanted to give it a new meaning, taking it to the next level. Maybe one day... Anime piano will recognized by the world.

Well then everyone, thank you for listening to my last arrangement. Maybe I can return to Youtube again in the future. I will miss you guys.

I've listened to this when I was a kid studying for exams.
I've listened to this when I was a young adult doing my assignments in university.
I'm still listening to this when I'm in my 30s, doing work in my office.

You will never know how much this arrangement have helped me get through my life. It's an honour watching you play in a concert once.

Thank you so much Animenz.

PS, it's 2025 and I'm still here!

I told my piano tracher, "I want to practice mastering my piano skills to play this!" she looked at my sheet music then had wide eyes. Even good old Mrs. Veronica can't play this

I’ve listened to this song in 2013 just when I got my first job. I replay it every time I walk to work from school. It’s 2022 and I still listen to it. It’s a masterpiece. It’s the most beautiful pianist I ever met I period. Thank you for everything Animenz

This piece is... just...  a masterpiece.... I really don't know how to describe something like this and put it into words, but its something like this:

When you create music or art or express your ideas, ideals, and personality, you pour your soul into it. I myself am a pianist and I have experienced this myself. Learning how to play and playing a piece is physically draining. You literally feel tired after practicing enough even though all your doing is moving your fingers. When play music, you lose part of yourself.... but this part is in turn given to everyone who is listening. When you play a piece as strongly and as beautifully as possible, you can almost feel the energy of the song, the chords resonating off of each other creates a sort-of "power". After finishing the song, you lose this "power, " but you regain it by seeing another person's art.

It almost acts as a cycle. You can gain all sorts of inspiration and feeling from other people and then you devote this to something and in turn, you give this to someone else.

The point is, reading your description, I can see that this song has drained you, but when I listen to it, I can almost feel the energy of the song. To me, this song may act as a power source for new ideas, but to someone else who could be living in a dark place or having a hard time, it almost heals them. Music is amazing and I would simply like to thank you for devoting so much of your life to creating it.

So finally, I think everyone on youtube should join me in offering Animenz a huge "Thank-You" for his work.

Thank-You Animenz.
I hope you see this.

ive been listening to this video for 10 years but never ever read the description. and here we go, almost 12 years later. animenz, you've said that this will be your last video and last composition and here we are, you're touring around the world playing anime music, being one of the most well-known anime pianist, and you're even a steinsway artist. im so glad 12 years ago you chose to do this for the last time and put all your effort and your soul into this video.

first time when i started listening to you i was still in elementary school. your music has always been with me eversince and in every phase of my life. there are times when i drifted apart from anime or my interest changes, but whenever i listen to your piano, all the nostalgia and memories come back. now i graduated uni and work, and i still listen to you and you'll always be my biggest piano inspiration. if one day im tired or i feel like failing, ill come back to this video to read your description again.

thank you for all these years. thank you for playing and continue to chase your dream.

And with this, I can retire now in satisfaction."
Oh but you didn't retire, you went on to become known as the Unravel pianist guy.

It's been 10 or so years since I first came across this video, printed out the music sheets, tried very hard to play it on the piano, listened to you playing it live...now i'm listening to this as a working adult in the office so many years later - just a few notes in and I already have goosebumps with such a feeling of heartbreak and nostalgia coming over me. Thank you always for your covers, and it feels really good to be back on this space:'-) mygod how time flies

I gave my Step Mum, who's a professional pianist, the sheet music for this and she nailed it first time. I almost cried because of how beautiful it was. Her and Animenz are my favourite pianists.

This makes me nostalgic for an anime I haven't even watched. Guess I should go answer that siren call.
