Angel Baby ROSIE & THE ORIGINALS (with lyrics)

Lead singer Rosie Hamlin wrote the words to this song originally as a poem to her first boyfriend. But when they finally got a record deal, the label insisted that David Ponce (who was the oldest member of the band) be named as the author of the song. The result was that Rosie did not receive any royalties and this quickly led to the breakup of the band. (She did establish her right to that credit within a year, but the battle for her rightful royalties continued for a whole decade).

To Michael in Heaven. My High School husband passed away to Stage 4 Colon Cancer on our 39th Wedding Anniversary September 2nd; 2012 (1973). Haunting...I karaoke 🎤 my 1st time ever ...with my daughter..2 weeks before my husband's "Routine Colonoscopy". We did the high part perfect the lady told us. They all clapped long & hard & stood up. They found a fist size tumor in his Colon Wall. This song I sang is beautiful but gut wrenching too. I recall tears streaming down my Husband's face after my daughter & I finished it. I wonder if he knew his fatigue that night was something way more than just fatigue? He told us we touched his heart & soul!😭💔 I WAS IN SHOCK...WE ALL WERE! They gave him 30 months to live as a petscan showed it had spread to his liver 5 places; pancreas & a spot on his brain.My WARRIOR Husband sadly passed away 21 1/2 months later after a BRAVE; 🤺🤺VALIENT 🤺🤺 FIGHT TO LIVE. I CANNOT LIVE 😭💔 WITHOUT HIM. HE WAS MY EVERYTHING. ONCE YOU LOVE LIKE THAT...THERE JUST ISNT ANY OTHER LOVE.♾️
