Restore All Policy Settings to Default on Windows 10

So your computers has a message saying "some settings are managed by your organization message" or "some of these settings are hidden or managed by your organization" This is very common and normally means you or someone who uses the computer have setting policies in place to block certain features of windows 10. This is normally to do with windows updates, privacy settings and telemetry. Either you have used group policy editor to block these features, or registry tweaks to block or disable these features or software like ADP or Shutup 10 or any other type of privacy software. I will show you step by step on how to reset these settings with a simple command.

1. Open command prompt with admin permission
2. Execute these commands then restart the computer

RD /S /Q "%WinDir%\System32\GroupPolicy"
RD /S /Q "%WinDir%\System32\GroupPolicyUsers"

1. Open command prompt with admin permission
2. Execute these commands one at a time, then restart the computer

Britec, you just saved me from a headache with this video. For the life of me I could not figure out what policy setting I had changed to keep that message "some settings are managed..." from coming up when I wanted to do a manual update. Thanks to your video here, it helped me out a great deal! Thank ya M8! YOU ROCK!

Excellent piece of information there, considering you've had a lot of videos about how to disable settings, via Group Policy. Thanks!

Could you make a video of which group policy settings you would change from the default settings. Please describe what occurs with each changed setting so I can decide whether or not I would want to make similar changes. In the past, you have shown a few of your changes. This may not be practical in the timeframe of your videos. If the set of policy settings is too large you could subdivide the settings into categories and make separate videos on each category. I hope others would be interested in this set of videos. Thanks for all of your hard work in your previous videos.

I ran it again under CMD ADMINISTRATION when I put in RD /S /Q command both times like you told us this time it came back saying, this system cannot find the file specified. Under both commands.

Thank you Sir Britec09. 100% WORKING!!!

Some background on my issue. Previously my computer was forced updating to win11 without my knowledge and it crashed and corrupted my SSD. My PC builder told me not to update to win11 as it was buggy and to remain on win10, replaced my ssd for free and i searched up how to blocked off windows by "setting group policy" so that my system wouldn't update on its on and after this issue has been resolved, I'm unable to update neccesary or minor fixes on windows, and is required to turn it off which I am completely unsure, search the web for help but to no avail. After using CMD and the /R /Q removal option and force updating the restriction has finally been removed. Thanks again!!
