People no longer want to deal with toxic companies and bosses.

Before the pandemic I spent 40+ hours a week in my office and commuting. Now I work from home and spread my work over the entire week. It has allowed me to cook every meal for my wife and kids and we eat every meal together as a family. I go for walks with them daily in the afternoons. We have meaningful conversations. We engage with our community during the day. I had no clue what I was missing in my life and now I don't think I can ever give it up. I can't imagine going back to working like I did before with that empty life. I will change careers to maintain this lifestyle if I have to. I will take pay cuts. I will relocate to another state.

People are starting to examine why they are giving their loyality, personal sacrifice, to a company that does not show an equal level of loyality to their employees. This has been a long time coming.

When the pandemic started and people stayed home a lot I was amazed at how many people didnt have anything to do besides working.

For many of us that 40 hour work week has turned into 60 or 70 hours.

I was forced to work in the pandemic without stopping and I feel completely disconnected from this. It's like my life never really changed.

Meanwhile nurses are just burnt out and quitting en masse and nobody is talking about that either.

I’ve been going out more and am tipping way more than I ever did before. Because I am actually thankful for service jobs and the people working them. I also have more money to use Bc I don’t waste gas money on commuting.

We need a 4-day workweek & a 3-day weekend. We need to enjoy our lives. We are sick and tired of working ourselves to near-death, we need to relax our minds.

Companies need another way to get potential employee "buy in". That whole, "you are lucky to have a job" thing just isn't going to work anymore.

Even if you work 100 hours a week, it has no value especially if you're on salary. All you will get is pity when you physically break down. Been there. Done that

I'll never work for anyone but myself ever again. This whole thing has 100% changed how I view my life.

Let the corporate world suffer. It's their long overdue turn.

The part about having to talk to a bunch of people at work and listen to people's bs and small talk and drama is one of the best parts about working at home

I quit my NYC gov job with great benefits after six years. I'll never forget March of 2020 and how they didn't close us in time. Our entire department lost people to covid.

Computers were supposed to make our lives easier by allowing us to finish work faster. The problem is bosses gave us more buttons to push.

My partner of 10yrs and I are selling all of our stuff, and moving into an RV to go wherever we want or need to go. We are almost 40, and we have no credit, no home, no children, no degrees. The system is not working for everyone. I’m so grateful that people are starting to see that work does not define us. I had cancer as a child. I thought about mortality when I should’ve been thinking about school. But it taught me: Life is too short to waste so much time. I choose to live small so I can have more meaningful time in my life. 🙏

Until menial jobs that no one likes anyway... can be replaced by automation. Those same jobs need to pay a larger % to employees and less to shareholders.

I was in health care for 17 years, retired and went Into retail/grocery. Now looking for a completely different direction. Neither of these fields at the root HELP people. It's about the $, and how much corpartians can get... not people
