Xbox’s hardware has always had a more premium feel compared to PS. It’s been that way since the OG Xbox.

As someone who has the Elite Series 2 controller, no joke on battery life. It’s insane. I game pretty heavily too and I get waaaay more than 40 hours of battery. The only battery saving option I have is having the Xbox logo light like super dim. Highly recommend.

I have both the Halo Infinite Elite Series 2 and the DualSense Edge and I view them as equals to each other. The Elite Series 2 has slightly less travel on the trigger stops *(super minimal)* than the Edge does + magnetic sticks, adjustable stick tension, wraparound rubber grips, 4 back buttons, and the swappable d-pad. However, the QC on the Elite Series 2 is notoriously bad and hasn’t gotten any better and Microsoft doesn’t seem to care. My controller is fine, but that issue is still prevalent. The Edge has the removable stick modules *(great for QoL), * dedicated share button *(I love that and hate how the ES2 doesn’t have that), * the FN Quick Swap buttons + on the fly customization features *(clutch in the middle of gameplay), * and of course the DualSense’s features like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers which are winners. The Halo Infinite controller is gorgeous, but it’s still just the last generation ES2 from 2019 with a Halo paint job. No next-gen features hurt it but they aren’t a deal breaker against it. Whereas, I’ve stretched my Edge’s battery life to 7-8 hours, it still pales in comparison to the 40 hours that I’ve pulled with my ES2. You really can’t go wrong with either. I’m just grateful to have both.

I'm an Xbox guy and have an elite 2 being delivered tomorrow. That being said, I think another advantage of the PS controller is the replaceable thumb sticks. Stick drift is a common issue, even for the elite series 2, which is why I'm extending my warranty on it to protect myself. Being able to replace them would be nice.

In the long run with stick drift the Xbox controller will be the more expensive one.
