----------------------
The Illinois 4-H Foundation established the statewide Hall of Fame in 2005 to honor and celebrate extraordinary 4-H alumni, volunteers, and former 4-H staff. Each inductee receives a commemorative Hall of Fame medallion.
Service is a hallmark of the Illinois 4-H program. The Illinois 4-H Foundation annually honors longtime volunteers and former staff members for their selfless dedication to 4-H, the University of Illinois Extension youth development program.
“These volunteers fully embody what 4-H strives to instill in youth,” says Angie Barnard, Illinois 4-H Foundation executive director. “They are caring, dedicated, generous leaders, and the Illinois 4-H Foundation is extremely proud to be able to provide this honor to thank them for their service to this wonderful organization."
Since 1954, the Illinois 4-H Foundation has raised funds from individuals, corporations and organizations to supplement state and county 4-H programs.
We work with:
- Former 4-H members frequently want to "give back" to the organization that gave them high impact experiences as a young person and helped shape them into who they are today.
- Current and former 4-H leaders, volunteers, and parents support 4-H each year because they have personal experiences of seeing the positive youth development that 4-H provides. It is always rewarding to hear personal testimonies of how 4-H programs have provided a positive impact to young people, to families, and to communities.
- Corporations, businesses, trade associations, and professional organizations support 4-H because they know they are investing in a program that produces young people who are better prepared to be effective leaders, contributing citizens, and value-added employees, and team members.
Our office works with all of our donors to maximize the impact their support makes on 4-H.
The 4-H Foundation is part of the Office of Advancement in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences. The University of Illinois Foundation processes all gifts to the Illinois 4-H Foundation and manages all our endowed funds.
