At vidIQ you seem to assume there’s only one type of Gaming channel out there. Single game or genre specific channels aren’t the only type of gaming channels. There are also gaming channels that solely focus on game reviews, or accessory reviews, or console reviews, or just gaming news. There is a huge section of gaming on Youtube that makes this type of content. And in reality growing a channel that focuses on one of these aspects is way easier than doing a let’s play or tutorial focused channel about 1 game or genre.

This has been the strategy I've adopted recently for my channel. I've always liked RPGs so I've was going to center my content around that. But to get even more specific, I wanted to tackle older games in general. Right now, I've been playing Grandia 2 and figured a good pivot would be to Tales of Symphonia. Both older JRPGs with a unique combat system. Then I try to just create some "evergreen" content in the form of reviews to hopefully gain some traction to the channel. Really been taking things a lot more serious this time around and trying to learn as much as I can to optimize my channel into something that works with Youtubes algorithm. Good information I have been uploading videos for at least 8 months, currently playing rogue galaxy, horizon zero dawn and witcher 3, never realize the idea of playing similar games of a genre so I guess some of my games are similar them, also I tend to record at least 10 videos before switching to the next game.
