I get the fact that he wants to improve his already good shooting, sometimes with a certain form you hit a plateau in which no matter how much you train you cant improve. That probably is why he tried to change his form. However, why would he build a shot that is so jagged and rough, if he had gone for a smoother motion instead, trying to creat a form similar to those of high efficiency shooters he would have left us speechless already. It really can work if you pick the right things to change on your form.

I am by no means a professional athlete but like I am sure most of us I grew up playing hoops. I was decent. When I was in 8th grade my head coach had me change my jumper (I was always a good shooter but I was like 13 so of course I had that kinda push style most young kids have). He had us all just shooting like hundreds of free throws. He mostly focused on mine because he saw my shooting potential. It took a lot of work and I was struggling most of that season, but by the time I was a freshman on my HS team I was getting more fluid and knocking them down. Now I’m in my mid 20s and people ask me how I have a pure jumper and I said “a good coach corrected my early mistakes and I worked on it.” I would get absolutely mauled if I played even on some WNBA team, but that’s my experience. Shocking most coaches don’t fix actual nba talent earlier…
