when billy Joel says “lots of nickels”, this refers to S4E3 of family guy, named “Blind Ambition” and it is about Peter trying to fit in with the guys at the bar because they are recognized for something. So, he tries to break world records by swallowing the most amount of nickels ever. It’s a very good episode and I would recommend watching it.
