Donald Trump says no more Kamala Harris debates | BBC News

Donald Trump has announced that he will not participate in a second debate against Kamala Harris ahead of the November elections.

The former president claimed on Truth Social that polls showed he "clearly won" his first debate against Harris in Philadelphia earlier this week.

Trump added that Harris "should focus on what she should have done" while vice-president.

Polls show the two candidates in an extremely tight race with just two months to go before the election.

He started the debate by demonstrating that he doesn't know how tariffs work. Then moved on to post-birth abortion, pet eating, before leaving the debate and appearing to believe the fake polls that showed him getting 92% of the vote.

I think Trump has lost the plot. His run in 2024 is so different than in 2016. In 2016 he was more composed, had no legal issues and was going against one of the most corrupt women ever in modern politics. It’s completely different here- Trump is looking like a coward, talked a load of nonsense in the debate and has all the legal issues. If he wins this election I will have no words

ABC owes the American people an apology for the way they handled that debate. Not once did they call Kamala out for lying. People need to do their own research on both Trump and Harris. We need to find a new way to hold debates. The media is out of control and refuses to change.
