This short video looks at how to modify third party assets. Import an FBX file from Unity into Blender, make modifications and then save it back into your project. The video also looks at how to adjust the colors of the asset if the developer used Color Palettes (future video coming on this topic) - this approach is commonly used in low poly models.

There's been instances where a model I've downloaded has too much/little geometry, and I typically follow the method shown in the videp. Great work by the way! Sometimes models can't be imported properly because they're a ASCII FBX format. The solution I found was to import the model to an Autodesk FBX converter, and convert it to the Binary format.

Could you do this but for rigged bodies please? Whenever I edit a rigged animated humanoid, the animation rig gets completely ruined with my version even though I don't touch anything related to animations.

So maybe I'm just bad at this, but I imported the package into Unity yet I can't find any models anywhere in the unpacked files when using blender.. what am I missing?

I have a .BLEND file. When I open it in blender, it just shows up in black and white and not what the final product looks like. I see that the colors (albedo, etc) are given with the downloaded asset but I have no clue how to assign it. Any ideas on how I should assign these colors and export to Unity?
