A quick note about "Screen saver" setting. With the MCM104 FW it now turns on the CPC ( the vignette effect ), not sure why did Asus change that thing, but you might want to add a sticky comment or annotation if possible, as this setting will now meaningfully change screen brightness even during normal use.

Many thanks. I've made all my monitor purchases over the last 12ish+ years based on your website. It was always tft central and the PSU guy who now works for corsair that helped the most. (Most other components are easier to research). So glad your still around and please keep doing what your doing. Things are getting exciting in this tech space.

thank you for posting this. I've been using this monitor for about a month and I just tried your color settings. It is a nice improvement.

If anyone updates to MCM 107 firmware and gets crazy artifacts its because after the update you need to do a full reset of the monitor back to factory and then do these settings in the video again. after the full reset you wont have any artifacts or weird issues.

Just want to thank you for this! As somebody that doesn't have a calibrator this will come in handy when mine arrives later in the month.

As somebody that ignorant I have a few questions:

1) Is the 120 nits just based on preference? I'm guessing 120-150-200 is just based on the lighting in your environment
2) For gaming, movies and just general social media consumption. Which is "better" to use, SRGB or wide gamut and why?

3) As as early preview....does this monitor get a thumbs up from you guys for PC users? (shame about the HDMI 2.0)

Sorry im new to all of this.. after watching the video i still don't get it, whats still the best for just overall gaming and watching videos/movies? the SDR settings or the SRGB settings?

Asus gaming HDR seems to act like dynamic tone mapping when using Windows HDR calibration tool. Asus Console HDR looks like HGIG which seems to correspond to accurate values on the calibration tool. Now my monitor behaves like my LG OLED TVS and looks amazing. The monitor is amazing when set up properly. So use Console HDR setting before the Windows HDR calibration tool.

I just got this monitor a few days ago & i cannot stress enough the difference between 1080p 240 vs 1440p 240. I wasnt 100% sure about it at 1st bc all the reviews said the screen was to dark because of of the oled panel but based on my experience the screen brightness does not translate to in game brightness if that makes sense, like my monitor screen brightness is set to 60 which is pretty dim but in game i have no dark zones so those sweats wearing black skins and hiding in dark corners i can still see (except warzone). The only game that i have issues with is warzone, for some reason warzone changes my monitors HDR settings so when im outside and i look into a building or dark areas, those dark areas are really dark but honestly feel like its just my in game settings. The only knock i have with the monitor is the fact that its $1k usd & didnt come with mount screws lmao.

When would I use SRGB versus Wide Gamut?

Hey, I really appreciate your attention to detail in these videos, especially regarding perfecting the monitors with settings. Since it's so hard to choose, I wanted to ask you: between this and the LG, which do you think would be better for SDR gaming? I know this one has higher brightness, but outside of that do you feel it has any advantages? I read elsewhere that the ASUS has better color accuracy out of the box, but I don't know if that's true any more after all of these firmware updates.

I suffered a strange bug with this monitor last night. When I shut down the pc I didn't turn the monitor off during the shutdown process as I normally do, instead I waited until the pc was completely off then the monitor shows "no signal" message, but it wouldn't turn off. Pressing the power off button did nothing, it didn't bring up the menu or anything. However I could press the other buttons to bring up the main menu but again no way to turn it off. So I had to turn my pc back on to turn the monitor off.

Thanks for the video, but I heard many complaints regarding the HDR mode, what are your thoughts about that?

I have the PG279Q as my main monitor (fps games, casual browsing, etc...), next to PG42UQ 4K OLED as my second monitor (movies, casual games)

I've been waiting for some time to upgrade my main monitor, do you think this is worth the upgrade to replace the PG279Q? Or should I wait for a high refresh rate OLED 4K 27" in the future?

I'm quite a newbie when it comes to screen settings stuff - thanks for the settings!
What is the difference in the stuff you did in user mode (wide gamut) and the srgb mode. When would you change between those 2 modes?
