What did NERDCORE sound like in the 1920s?

Digging back through the Stupendium family archive I came across this clip of my great-grandfather performing the song 'A Jolly Day for Gaming (And Other Merry Pursuits)'. Recorded in 1924 and one of the first documented Nerdcore compositions, this piece truly paved the way for the genre we all know and love today.

The fact that you even got the desync between the vocals and the video, this is fantastic

And it’s still a bop, you’re too powerful Stupes.

genuinely wouldn't mind an entirely 1920's styled stupendium song. i love 1920 style music and i feel like you could absolutely nail it.

Would love a song about arcade games from the 80s and 90s

Stupes creativity will never cease to amaze me. No matter the topic, genre, or theme they do they always turn out something amazing and of such a splendid quality be it production, lyrics, or the smallest detail.

I wasn't aware you considered yourself as trading in, specifically, nerdcore rap. I'm pleased to see Frontalot's legacy carries into the future.
For my nerdcore dollar, you're certainly One of the best ever do it. People throw around praise like that and they throw around the word genius, but I like to think I don't. I strongly believe it's not over-selling The Stupendium to describe you as a linguistic genius. I don't know any other way to account for these syllables, apparently ill suited to go together, snapped together like Lego bricks, like they were made that way, like it was obvious to all of us that it could be done.

I would love to see more mini songs like these, they would all be bangers.

Imagine this but 2025 edition. Just random vague gaming references for 4 minutes. Can’t wait to hear it

Ludo was right there and they plumped for Naruto. Absolutely beautiful no notes.

Yoo! So glad you uploaded this! Definitely one of my favorite of yours from how dedicated it is to matching that old ragtimey rhythm! Also heard you posted some stuff on TikTok, I don't have that so maybe someday 👀
