Piranha’s aren’t nearly so dangerous in real life as they are in movies. They prefer dead or dying food if it’s larger than they are and are extremely unlikely to attack a human in the water. Part of their reputation is based on fisher men getting cut by their sharp teeth when removing hooks and their swarming behavior.

Just go watch ‘River Monsters’ he jumps in and swims around with piranha and it’s totally fine.
