Many electric cars feature one pedal driving. This means that car will automatically use regenerative braking to slow the car down when you release the accelerator pedal. It can be a great way to drive and when used correctly means you can virtually drive using just one pedal!

The Polestar 2 allows you to select One Pedal driving off, low or standard. In this Polestar 2 one pedal driving review I talk about the driving experience using off and standard and test out the difference in electrical consumption on exactly the same short route.

Started with OPD on test drive ..and never even tried otherwise since delivery. So easy .. no engine, no brakes, no gearbox.. no other way. History.

The difference would be bigger if you drive in town or other places where you do more start-stop. A motorway drive is probably where you will see the least effect from regen.

completely agree that once you get used to it you don't drive any other way but with OPD set to standard

The drawbacks of one pedal driving? The break discs tends to gain rusts on the surface if don't used the car frequently in the winter.
Not sure if this going to be a problem in the EVs in general or not.
