👉 Learn how to find the square root of rational numbers. To find the square root of a rational number, we first express the rational number as the square root of the numerator divided by the square root of the denominator and simplify. Where the rational number can divide, we divide the numerator by the denominator and then find the square root of the resulting quotient.

I learned it as sqrt(10*2) would simplify to sqrt(5*2*2) and since the pairs are square roots you put them on the outside to get 2sqrt5. This applies to any radical and it's especially helpful when there are no perfect squares you can think of to simplify it to.

I have a test over this tmw and the only thing I am kinda confused on is say 7√108/√6 would I rationalize the by doing 6x6 and also doing 108x6 and then x108 by 7?

This was easier to understand than a textbook

ok what i did was divided 20 by 10, got 2*10 then i simplified 10 to get 2 and 5, I put the two 2's together and got 2√5 then i put 2√5 under 4√5 and cancelled out the two √5s and divided 4 by 2 to get the answer 2.

Lol thanks to my hobby of feeling sleepy in math class I couldn't understand these simple things, but YouTube is here thanks ❤

You could also rationalize the denominator by multiplying by root20/root20 and simplify. This way is actually easier, imo.
