A.I. just doesn’t fit in one category with film photography in my head. I am sure we are gonna have to use this at work, but here, it’s like slap in the face 😢

I’ve only tried using the AI Beta version as an advanced clone tool so far and in my limited experience it tends to give me better results if I do not write a prompt, just leave it blank and click generate

Amazing but scary. You have made be realize I need to get the seals replaced in my backs.

You didnt show the other options it gives you. Each time there are 3 different options it offers. Next to the generate button there is a 1/3. You can also just click generate with out a propt and it does well on its own (depending on what you're trying to do).

You get 3 results. Worth looking at all 3

At risk of sounding like I: shout at the clouds about the future of techonology, deep-learning tools in representative art is just not it for my money. Too much risk of this AI/Deep-Learning algorithm being used to scalp likenesses, art, and other personally identifying information to be added to sellable databases by companies like Adobe to 3rd party companies for advertising purposes. The ethical implications that rise from having photographs being used in large databases that are needed to train deep-learning are just too damning as well IMO.

I'll give an example of this tech being actually really useful and non-exploitative; Spiderverse. The animators for Across the Spiderverse used deep-learning to help streamline their animation process by using information that those same artists created in the first movie. By using the dataset created by those same animators from the first movie, ATSV animators could generate features on the 3D models that helped cut down on stress and workload because they already did the work and trained their deep-learning to predict what they wanted out of the animation.

You touched on it in this video, but I don't know that it was talked about with much emphasis on the implicaitons; propagandized AI "photos". I certainly don't want any of my images being used in a dataset for a cause that I don't agree with, whether that's climate change denial, flat earth, or straight up fascism. By opening users of the Adobe suite up to having their images being submitted to the database for their deep-learning algos to pick through, at any chance Adobe gets as a corporation they could sell our images to the highest bidder, or even just license out the database to whoever wants to pay for it. That's dystopian and scary, man. I'm not really excited about this addition to Lr or to Ps if I'm honest.

Hi .Ribsy..I have used AI Dream via discord for past 6 months..only to seed and create for reference ...I still prefer the overlay / clone technique for images ..to change background ..or get rid of artifacts ..it just another tool...once the AI vocab for PS gets improved ..it will get better

"Show me the negative or it didnt happen" hahaha.

When typing in prompts, I use fewer words. Why did you use a full sentence for this task?

Think you will have to produce the negative or raw file in the future to guarantee you have taken the picture and it wasn't created. We've had tools to clean up images but creating things from nothing is basically cheating.

I don't know... I think I rather to fix the light leaks on my cameras...

Why not just get A1 to create the image from scratch

Wether we like it or not A.I. is here to say😂😂 Holga users may not use it much they love the light leaks for artist reasons.😊

I think we’ll get to the point within the next few years where someone makes a b&w negative from a.I assisted tools.

If you do photography because you love taking pictures then this won't change anything about that. If you do it for likes then you have a problem now. 99.9% of all online pictures have gone through Instagram filters or Lightroom HDR processing for years now and creation of propaganda pictures is nothing new either. So fake pictures have been the norm for a while now. I personally think that the current hype is a good thing. Now people realize the truth that they have to treat every picture as fake by default.

I think AI is a great opportunity to make the film matter again. Example of historical photos, documentaries or science and so on. I mean, digital photographs can no longer be trusted and the negative is the original proof of the image's existence. It just needs a good and powerful advertisement.
