Brendan Hughes, also known as "The Dark", and "Darkie" was a leading Irish republican and former Officer Commanding of the Belfast Brigade of the Provisional Irish Republican Army. He was the leader of the 1980 Irish hunger strike.

I'm glad Brendan laid bare his life on tape. It was just unfortunate how it was used after his death. He lived the history some are trying to retell and change for their own ends.
