Amazing . Only a select few could afford to do this . They do water skiing in #salcombe , Devon. Maybe the holiday makers there might be able to afford to do that ?
I worked in Salcombe on work experience in 1995. I got to try Water skiing ! It was cool, but, I could not do it.
I still remember the guy shouting:

Price point way too high, getting back start up investment quickest way starts with getting them out there, being seen & have people wanting one, but at this cost it will take forever to recover initial investment ... take a lower profit, drop price to where the average Joe an consider one & you will be away. Stay too costly for the main target group of fun seekers & it will take forever to get it out there and known .... $12k US kills it for anyone else, especially here in Australia as exchange rate is sad. 70c so costs 30% more.

These prices are absolutely crazy. $12, 000 or more in the US. 15, 000+ dollars in Canada. How are these so expensive? There is nowhere near $15, 000 worth of materials here in the board. At this price point you would be better off buying a high-end used jet ski or even a decent little boat. I love the idea and I do not like bashing companies. As this is one of the coolest things I've ever seen. And I was very interested. But at that price point I would rather have a jet ski or a boat. As other people said. I think the price is going to kill the sales and ultimately maybe the company, you guys need to have more cheaper options for people and you would probably do very good and get lots of sales for that if it was cheaper. I could afford this price currently, but I just won't do it because I cannot justify 15 grand for it

What is the battery degradation % per mile? Out of pure curiosity what batteries did you use? Is it 18650 or the new 21700 ?
