Creating & Running a Grails 3 Application

In this screencast we continue our Grails 3 Introduction and look at creating and running your first application. We talk about how to create your first application and the different options you have when doing so. We also look at some of the command line features that Grails interactive mode gives us as well as importing your new application into IntelliJ and running it. Since Grails 3.0 just come out just couple months ago, and is very different from its ancestors, IDE documents are confusing and hard to figure out. Really cool introduction hoping for a couple of follow-up videos regarding version 3. I'm just getting started and I am having trouble finding information to get things to work. Could you do a tutorial on where to find and how to install plugins using version 3? They grails "install" command does not seem to work for me.

Great Video. I do have one question. When you run compile and then package, a jar and a war file are created. When I do it, only a war file is generated. Why is this? Oh and I've run compile --refresh-dependencies and then package and it worked once, now it doesn't work on any new projects, very bizarre.
I'm on Windows 7 - my linux boot is broken - using cygwin.
