Some lists:
Base system requirements
OS X 14.6 or later
4gb ram (8gb for more advanced)
1gb graphics ram (not totally needed)
3.8gb storage space (KEEP IN MIND!) This is just for the program, for 4K rendering, of even just 1080 +, at least 500gb of fast storage space, ssd, is required.

Best specs for good experience
don’t get a Mac Pro (top tip)
No fewer than 4 cores
6-8 sweet spot
Need a gpu for smooth render and playback
1gb vram for the graphics card (I like 4gb)
3D rendering needs lots more, but scrubbing through a timeline only needs a low end one.
Ram, random access memory, for giving memory to multiple programs, no spinning color wheel, no lower than 8gb ram, 16gb plus better.
The hard drive is important, get a ssd for way safer, faster experience. Get an external usb-c hard drive! But give the computer lots of storage breathing room, it’ll really help. If you plan to use your computers built in storage, 512gb +.

A base model MacBook Pro 💻 is perfect for low end, fast editing. For a desktop, get the iMac Pro. The MacBooks are more portable so really that is the one to get. 16” models give you a bigger screen for better experience.

Hopefully I helped you out.

Love this video and its super helpful. THANK YOU.

I bought an Macbook Pro this year with these specs: 2019, 1.4 GHZ, i5 Quad core, RAM 8gb, SSD 250 GB & Iris plus Graphics 1536 MB. I'm happy with the speeds and performance with my computer. My only issue is that I do notice that the touchscreen bar (which is pretty dope) does get extremely hot. Even though I do not have any other programs running but FCPX and working off of external harddrive.

One thing I did notice is that, when I edited at home I live in Southern California and it averages 80-100 degrees most of the year and I don't have AC, it does overheat fairly quickly (5-10 mins of work). But when I went to visit a friend and they had AC running cold, my laptop did not over heat at all.

Another Youtuber: Jaime French mentioned the same issue twice (bought one and exchange for another) with a new Macbook pro with way better specs than mine and found the same issue of overheating.

Does anyone else find this same issue with better specs on their Macbook pro with touchscreen bar?

Question; you say stay away from the iMac Vs MacBook but what overheating issues between the 2? Also what about a system that includes Logic?

Hey thanks so much for the video really appreciate it, great work! I'm wondering if you can help me, I'm at a bit of a crossroads I own a late 2012 iMac and have recently started using Final Cut Pro instead of iMovie, my computer struggles to keep up and even crashes on occasion (surprise surprise haha) I think it's high time for an upgrade, what computers would you recommend I have a look at? Thanks in advance! Ant.

I believe that with those basic requirements... FCP will take a long time to render footage.

We need Final Cut Pro for Windows. It will be like 95% cheaper than a mac for the samer power, lol.

Saying “OS X 10” is like saying “OS 10 10”...

Mac Book Pro's are a Big Joke to me. They have a battery that will sooner or later die and need to be replaced which is another Big Joke! I would never use a laptop. I go with at lease a iMac. But don't try to buy it from Amazon. They do not sell the new iMac with 16gb of ram. You can only buy the new iMac with 8gb of ram!
