Minecraft Live 2021: The Caves & Cliffs Update

Agnes and Henrik drop by Minecraft Live to talk about The Caves & Cliffs Update. They take a look back at Part I and reflect on how valuable the community's feedback has been. We also get an inside look from some of the developers working on Part II. Alexander, Nhi, and Timur walk us through the work that goes into building a new mountain, creating a new cave, and what real world inspiration made it into the game.

You know, this is exactly what other companies lack. Communication with the playerbase is so so important. They are creating a game for US all. This is the reason I'll probably still play minecraft when im 50 years old.

The new generation looks sick, and hearing about how involved the community was in the update is nice. It really should be called *Ourcraft*

Minecraft is truly very inspiring, it started with only one person who wasn’t confident with their game and just thought it would eventually be forgotten, and now Minecraft is one of the most bestselling games ever.

It is a bit sad that the deep dark isnt going to be apart of caves and cliffs.
But that just means its going to be even better
Can't wait to explore and fight hordes of mobs in the new caves!

As a bedrock player, this makes me soo happy. It is cool that Java and Bedrock use the same seeds now.

I enjoy hearing about how the developers play on their own worlds. They know what matters in the game because they’re playing it. Getting game updates from marketing people who don’t even play is boring.

2:16 Agnes is so cute, she loves Minecraft and it's community, it's just so adorable how faithful she is to the game's development.

The whole showcase at 7:33 really hits hard when listening to a C418 song that has been in the game since the beginning. Really made me think of exploring my first caves 10 years ago with that same song playing in the background. For a lot of people, this new cave generation will be all they will know

I actually got kinda emotional when they were showcasing the new caves n mountain generation. Idk maybe it’s cuz of the music but it just makes me so genuinely happy that Minecraft is gonna look this amazing! I’m gonna miss the old simple yet chaotic generations of Minecraft, but I can’t deny this is a BIG upgrade.

It's actually really rare to see big companies like this being to honest about what's going on, and that's what makes me enjoy playing Minecraft even further

I'll admit it's disappointing they're delaying the deep dark til next year for the next update but honestly I can understand this decision with how they're wanting to expand on it instead of it just being a small area with a warden windering aimlessly
