Doctor Who - 1980 Theme (including full intro and closing themes) - Peter Howell

Back in 1980, one thing that disappointed and puzzled me about Peter Howell's full-length 7" single mix of the theme tune was that it didn't contain the full intro and closing themes which were used in the actual credits on TV

So after some mucking about with some isolated music files of Howell's theme I made my own mix that matches exactly what I wanted from the full length version, and I've put a little video together for it too to give you something to look at while you listen! :-)

By the way, if you like this kind of stuff you should check out @therestorationofdrwho1865's channel - nobody on YouTube does these things better than they do (which is why I stan them hard) and they've spent many years recreating Howell's theme from scratch on original hardware

I bought this 45 single when Peter Davisons 5th Doctor was on cover. Still have it. I love this version of the 80s Doctor Who theme tune. John Nathan Turner wanted a new version of the theme and i think Sid Sutton came up with the fantastic star field.

Nice, I hated this version of the theme and the starscape but good work restoring the music. This theme influence friends to get into synthetic music.
