Greatest Moments in Speedway EVER!

Speedway is one of the greatest forms of motorsports in the whole world, full of excitement and drama in the space of just 4 laps with some of the greatest commentary you'll ever hear from the likes of Kelvin Tatum and Nigel Pearson. Lets celebrate these incredible moments in Episode 1 of this series!

For those who don't know Speedway is oval dirt track motorbike racing which involves the bikes riding as fast as possible with no brakes at 80+ MPH, in order for these bikes to make the turns at those speeds they need to drift using the throttle to prevent them from crashing into the fence.

Man even though the focus was on the race up front I couldn't take my eyes off Darcy Ward. What a rider. I'm lucky enough to have had him race for my local team for a couple of years. Something that most people will sadly never experience. His talent and style was unmatched. If not for his injury, surely he would have been world champion.

Great vid 👍 I’ve followed speedway for 55 years predominantly Teesside/Boro/Redcar and seen many great races that unfortunately weren’t on vid because mainstream TV and media have never really given a toss about it.

I was at Bradford for the 85 world Final as a 17 yr old watching GUNDERSEN win . What a meeting, im now 57 and it feels like yesterday watching it back .
