Paris Jackson is honoring her late father, Michael Jackson, on what would have been his 65th birthday. On Tuesday, the "Just You" singer paid tribute to the King of Pop, who died in 2009, with a video compilation posted on her Instagram. “So today is my dad’s birthday and back when he was alive, he used to hate anybody acknowledging his birthday, wishing him a ‘Happy Birthday’, celebrating it — nothing like that," she said. "He actually didn’t want us to even know when his birthday was, because he didn’t want us to throw a party, or anything like that." She went on to call out fans who slammed her for not commemorating her dad's milestone on social media. “That being said, social media is apparently how people express their love and affection these days and if you don’t wish someone a ‘Happy Birthday’ via social media, it apparently means that you don’t love them, that you don’t care about them," she said. “They’re basically telling me that I don’t love my own father, based on what I post on Instagram — so I made you guys a little video and I hope you enjoy it."

He’d be proud of the articulate, kind and beautiful human you have become

Your dad grew up in front of the camera with no privacy or peace. It's no wonder he protected you and your brothers so fiercely. He was just a little older than me so we grew up at the same time. I always loved him, from the time he was a boy until today. I cried for a solid month when he died. It was a huge loss. The very fact that you are joyfully living your life and being you without worrying about social media would make him so happy. Keep doing you, Paris! You are perfect!

Baby girl, don't let complete strangers have any power over you. Express your love for your daddy any way you see fit.

The way she and her brothers turned out is a HUGE testament to their father's love for them, and their love for him and his legacy in return. Paris, Prince, and Bigi are all incredible human beings.

I can still remember how gut wrenching it was to see her as a little girl speaking at his funeral. He was her world! As someone who also lost their dad too early I completely understand not wanting to “celebrate” their birthday because it hurts too much

That video was longer.
She tells that he didn't like to celebrate his birthday and that if we want to truly honor his memory, it would be nice to do good deeds and to be better people for those around us, every day.💓💓💓🙏🏼✌️✌️

A daughter can never express the love they have for their father. No words can express that type of love.

You're a good daughter, Paris it's so sad your Dad is not here to see how lovely a young woman you have grown into, and for adults that are hating you those are the kind you don't want to know, and pray to God none of them have kids. Unfortunately, ppl like that don't like themselves, so they try to bring others down, let them stew in their own ignorance. Paris, you are a lovely woman. Keep up the good work ❤🎉

God bless you Paris. You don’t have to prove anything to anybody. God knows what is in your heart and that’s all that matters…

He was the most gifted, humble human and a great father. Hard to believe he would have been 65. Happy Birthday Michael, your legacy is forever.
