I just watched an episode of The Inforgraphics Show about the best sniper ever during the Winter War. Well, wrong German flag at the start of the first story, the flag in 1939 was red with a black swastika on a white circle, or at least the black-white-red one. The shown black-red-gold/yellow was only used during the Weimar Republic and then later of West Germany (and East Germany with their hammer and sickle emblem in the middle)...
And the sinking of the Maine wasn't really a false flag operation, but just opportunistic use of an accident aboard the ship (and it was Pulitzer who was stoking the flames to go to war)
