I’m old enough to remember when they banned paper grocery bags in favor of plastic bags….to save the trees. Now they’re choking waterways, landfills and are not biodegradable. What a giant waste.

We had paper straws and cups in the 60’s. They were just wax coated paper. The straws didn’t get soggy unless you chewed them, and the wax on the cups was so thick you could write on them with your fingernail.

I still.have around a thousand plastic straws in my home. I have a case in my vehicle all the time and when I go to a restaurant I always still use a plastic straw.

I don't know why everyone is talking about paper straws and plastic cups. Here in Canada the cups were paper way before the straws. I never see a plastic cup it's all paper. Accept my straws, I bought over a thousand plastic straws and still use a plastic straw every time I eat out

I am not liberal but I live ina country with a lot of coastlines and a lot of problems with garbages and plastics in the sea associated with animal harm and death frequently.
