My Icarus Canopies NEOS Interview - PIA 2009 - Parachute Industry Association

Throwback flashback to 2009 when I was Miss Smarty Pants at PIA 2009. Icarus Canopies flew me out to Reno, Nevada to help with the booth as a sponsored high performance canopy pilot. I was 32 years young. Icarus Canopies is a parachute/sport canopy manufacture. They attended this skydiving symposium.

I was helping with the Icarus booth at PIA (Parachute Industry Association) 2009 as a sponsored pilot. PIA is a big skydiving convention for skydivers. Icarus and I were focused on promoting our newly designed ARC braced skydiving wing called the NEOS. ARC bracing stands for Advanced Rib Construction. The NEOS is a semi-rigid wing. The NEOS has super nice openings, great riser pressure and it's a solid wing. The ram air stabilizers are awesome! No parasitic drag! I love my NEOS and I know a lot about canopies and canopy flight. The guys from VASST walked up and asked if someone could talk about the NEOS on camera, an impromptu interview. Fernando, the owner of Icarus visiting from Spain, volunteered me! He said, "Well she's the one!" I was a bit nervous because I did not have time to prepare and the venue was closing soon. So I got a little bit repetitive. I also wasn't used to vlogging yet and talking at the camera and making eye contact with the camera. I treat the camera as another person. I look at the camera guy, the camera and the interviewer all at different times just as I would do talking to a group of people and making eye contact. I'm usually pretty good at public speaking, but I didn't have time to prepare for this interview. However, I got my highlight points across about the NEOS. How do you think I did?

I love my 59 sq ft NEOS and I have even ground launched that sweet little fast neon pink canopy! :) The NEOS is a great canopy for instructors. It has the great openings of the Crossfire 2 and the high performance fast landings of the fastest cross-braced canopies. I sound really smart in this video, don't I? That's because I am when it comes to canopy flight. :)
