Plans for a new digital district in Docklands have been unveiled - designed to rival the original tech city in Shoreditch. The Canary Wharf Group wants new companies to be a key part in the next phase of the development in the Isle of Dogs. The multi billion pound scheme will also see more than 3,000 new homes built. Tim Donovan reports.

*If a two-parent family of 4 can't afford the rent before benefits, both parents with a full-time minimum wage job, then it's NOT affordable.*

1:21 "Relationships here have improved markedly, from the days the local community felt locked out" - that's because the original community has been pushed out, and replaced by wealthy business people.

I'd much rather have a high tech capital cities with wealth spreading to the suburbs, rather than have affordable housing in the capital, turning into slums and havens for crime. You don't solve poverty by having everyone in the same level of poverty. People can hardly act surprised that London is an expensive city, it's the financial capital for the UK and Europe, with global trade circulating through. As cities get richer, prices and value of land goes up. Why are people demanding that housing for people who cannot afford to live there be constructed?!
Even IF Canary Wharf built low cost housing, do you think people could afford life there?

If you work full time and cannot afford to rent these flats, they are not affordable. 😠!!!

With or without Brexit, by 2025 in Canary Wharf will work 80.000 more people. And don't forget thanking Canary Wharf for the Jubilee Line and the new Crossrail in there.

They need to include Electric car charging points in this district.

ICE cars (perticually diesel engine cars) should be banned from entering this district

How pathetic when he boasts that 25% is affordable housing. How about 100%
