Admittedly, some days out here, I get discouraged. It is challenging to let go of who I used to be and accept my limitations as a TBI Thriver, while at the same time acknowledging and moving forward in the knowledge and faith that my world, my goals and abilities are unlimited. KOKO! NMW! Thank you to each one of you for being here, lifting my spirits and offering the positive support you so freely give.

I started this journey with Bentley and Nonni, my two furbabies, and now it is Nonni and me (RIP Bentley, see "A Tribute to My Baby Boy Bentley”, 3/30/17). Nonni and I are forging ahead in Fancy Free - my beautifully renovated, luxurious home on wheels. I love my rig, and this life I am so blessed to enjoy. No assisted living/nursing home for me! I love my AWEsome supporters, subscribers and viewers.
THANK YOU!

Yep! The whole house clean thing. I tear through my mobile home every Saturday and wash my bed linens, the dog blankets, towels, everything. Travel safe Debra, this is a very useful series!

Oh I get you in the "whole house clean" thing. I love the day when I wash all my bed linens so it must be a bigger version of that. It's such an feeling. Didn't know that about the liquid pods. Good point.

Oh I am just loving your essentials videos. It has been hard for me to make the ultimate pair down so that I can move all of my things into my car. I want to fit everything I own into my car then when I get a van I will have so much room. I consider that the ultimate freedom. Thanks so much Debra. I love the way you lay out your essentials onto the table. It makes for a clear visual of what I am aiming for.

I had to laugh at the part when you said most people have one bag of dirty laundry and just dump it all in and that's it. That reminds me of some of the guys I worked with on the cruise ships. I spent 13 years working as an musical entertainer on cruise ships and we all did our own laundry. Something I learned from crew members really fast was to try NOT buy anything white or anything that needed to be ironed...lol! That way you could just dump it all in at once in one washer. Of course I had my dress shirts and undershirts that were white. So some shirts had to be ironed and my dress slacks had to be ironed. But as a vandweller I highly doubt I'll have anything needing to be ironed. Good video Debra!

Uh oh. We're at your laundry segment. And if anybody has watched her previous videos they might have read my comment about laundry...folks please use bluing instead of bleach. Bleach doesn't really whiten clothes, it gives them a yellow off-white color compared to bluing, which gives clothes a brilliant bright blue white appearance, and does not eat fabrics, the way bleach does. Bluing is healthy for the environment, and bleach is not. When I worked in microbiology, we used bleach to sterilize the lab-The table tops, the walls, the laminar flow hood, literally every surface with in the laboratory. When I worked in the pool industry, we had to purchase phosphate remover, to prevent algae blooms growing on pool walls. Phosphate remover is $70 a gallon. Laundry detergent is just that, detergent. It is not soap. Detergent contain phosphates, which are a fertilizer for green growing things. When I came to this realization, I attached a garden hose to the drain of my washing machine, and use The dirty and phosphate filled washing machine water, using it in watering my plants with my used laundry water. Also, topical fertilizer such as manure get washed away in the rain and pollute rivers and streams. Do you laundry detergent gets dissolved in the water which is called being suspended. So that you don't have to worry about the run off polluting waterways and streams. I simply ensure that I never include bleach when washing my clothes. The reason why people are discouraged from wearing cotton fabrics as swimwear, such as T-shirts and cut off's, it because Cotton fabrics retain the detergent within them, and the bleach in the pool water in combination with the other chemicals, leeches out the detergent into the water, and the phosphates encourage the growth of algae...we could truly revolutionize American water conservation if everybody would simply follow my lead, and simply use laundry detergent and bluing for washing their laundry. As an aside, decades ago women would use bluing to get brilliant snow white hair. If they accidentally used a bit too much bluing, they would get a bluish tinge to their hair! I always smiled when I would see it-woman with slightly blueish hair😏😳😁. Thank you for letting me share, and I'm working on brevity. I hope this is shorter than most of my other comments of been!👍🏾😇🙈🙊🙉

I know that since this video is old-ish that few will see this laundry safety tip. It's for older folks in multi story homes. Carrying a basket of laundry down stairs can be hazardous so use a bag, and from the top of the stairs give your dirty clothes a gentle toss. Your hands are now free to hold the handrail.
