I grew up knowing Wes, my father worked with him on the fire department and other city departments. I remember when my parents told me and the first time I saw Wes in person after the accident. He is so strong and amazing and he overcame such a terrible injury.

I believe one of the best pieces of advise he got was his friend telling him to keep his face down in the snow . Ice is great for shopping swelling. You are amazing, Wes with the amount of injuries you had you have done very well. God bless you helping others.cheers from Australia

The fact that he uses his own healing experience to help others who are going through the same thing is incredible. An attack like that is life changing and very traumatic, and knowing what to expect and how to process through it all probably helps these people out on their healing journey exponentially!!! Also knowing they're not alone in this experience too. What an awesome human being he is. ♡♡♡

I'm hearing about this for the first time in 2024, I hope you are still with us and what a fighter you are to have come through like you have. Wish you the best sir.

Hello Wes; I hope you see this message. Just an FYI, I understood you perfectly well; started off reading the subtitles, but after a few seconds restarted the vid, and just listened to you. You are a fantastic example of determination and strength, and I’m glad I watched this. Thank you for reaching out to other survivors and helping them, by example, and with your support. Anyone can see that you are an incredible human being… hugs, from Vancouver BC, Canada.

Wow what a story of courage, determination and love! I was attacked by an 80 pound gibbon ape when I was 9 years old. A lot of what he says I can relate to. I had Vietnam vets write me and tell me how brave I was. Yours is a story of encouragement. Fight fight fight!! 💪♥️

Thanks for sharing the event, Wes. I had only heard parts of the story before this. This is an inspiration for people dealing with that which should have made them give up. You're the man.

Thank you for sharing this amazing survival story.
It’s just crazy how these humongous bears can be right on top of you and you not hear them coming !

I've been watching bear attacks for maybe a monthe now. I've learned so much. The first and most important thing ìs to stay out of bear country if you don't want to find yourself in a bear attack.
