Receive a free Potato Growing Guide
We picked this one as there are always so many questions on how you sow a seed potato with no dig. No dig is all about disturbing the soil as little as possible, but yes, Charles uses a trowel to put seed potatoes in the ground. Do think ahead, where to get your seed potatoes from. Around Christmas time take some of your own harvest and put them in a box on window sill to sow in spring. To get your free Potato Growing Guide - add the discount code FREESPUDS at checkout.

You got me into gardening once I had retired Charles. It means as you get older and more creaky you can still manage a small veg garden by using the no dig method. I'm proud that I haven't bought a cabbage in years 😂 Thank you

I love seeing behind the scenes at Homeacres! And meeting the team that make this prodigious ongoing project possible. Thanks to everyone! Charles, please don't burn out. Take a rest every so often, won't you? Your followers consider you to be a mentor and friend, and we need you to hang around as long as possible. xo

Keep going Charles it was because of you that I have a beautiful allotment after my mum died I needed some thing to keep my mind occupied, only last week I put up a 20 foot poly tunnel from first tunnel so double what I had, and looking forward to next year growing 😊

❤ all your videos especially when you tell us when a certain crop has been sown and transplanted. Wouldn't change anything in 2025. Nicola is your unsung hero. Part of your increase in followers is down to her expert filming

6x 💚💚💚💚💚💚 for the 6 folks in this video, each as brilliant, knowledgeable, easy to listen to and watch as Charles. Charles, I've been growing vegetables on my own since I was a teenager. For years I treated it as a miniature industrial style operation, as many people do. You are changing lives for the better. I would have never known about you, bought your books, calendars, or CD trays if I had not seen you here. You were treated as a rock star because you are already a legend. The YT algorithm is ... whatever it is. Don't let that ever get you down. You built an amazing channel here. Thank you 🙏

You had such a big impact on my life, I just want to tell you that!! Not only that you enabled me to work my land in denmark, where I bought a farm with really concrete-like claysoil. I started to adapt your method for my slow flowers flowerfarm and it helped me so much!! It actually saved my tulips and narcissi during last winter, when it was raining so much that even the growers in the Netherlands had big problems to save their harvest. Thank you for your work and teaching us how to work the soil sustainable!! Greetings from Denmark!! 🤗🌻🌞

I got an allotment about 2 years ago and started watching your channel. My plot was covered in plastic compost bags and car tyres. I’ve now managed to remove all of the tyres and 98% of the plastic rubbish and converted about 1/2 the beds to no dig. I started making my own compost last year so that I’ll be able to convert the remainder too. Thank you

I'm going to sit and enjoy this when i get my children settled in bed. Right now my garden is a complete and utter mess and my tunnel (40ft) grew more weeds and thistles than anything else, loads of work to be done. Your garden is AMAZING! I aspire to have something like yours in a few years 😊

You are wonderful as you are, Sir Charles, nothing to change at all.❤ You might repeat posting your special sowing videos from a few years ago to save some of your valuable time. I am convinced it helps to review them and for the rapidly growing audience to first view them. These 'older' videos are gardener's gold. You cannot review them too often😊. Dankeschön. P.S. I miss the cooking videos, maybe your Chef has time to do some so that you are not overwhelmed all alone...

What a lovely video and insight in to the team. Fascinating to hear about the fungi root research, please update us on progress of that. I would rather watch this than any slick high budget gardening show, it's real and realistic. Charles you are a great, great teacher and hearing the younger ones shows you're building your team too. I know how time-consuming it can be, but your videos have encouraged and enthused me and thousands of others. You answered my queries on celeriac and I'm daily comparing its size to yours! You also wrote a lovely message in my friends book. All round fabulous, please keep being you! 😊
