Michael Kiwanuka is tipped for big things this year. Having recently released his critically acclaimed EP "Tell Me A Tale" on Communion Records and a string of sold out shows and festival appearances, we were lucky to catch him when we did! With a soulful compilation of timeless songs, Michael's voice and presence defy his young age and you can be sure of the longevity of Michael's career ahead of him.

Matt was introduced to Michael by Paul Butler from The Bees earlier this year, as he supported them in London's Union Chapel. It's not often a support act fills the venue ahead of the headline act but Michael did just that. Paul produced the aforementioned EP and is now producing the eagerly anticipated debut album. So all thanks to Paul for making this session possible!!

Matt and Joe spent a gloriously sunny day in Camden and Regent's Park with Michael, capturing beautiful renditions of some of his favourite songs and talking about the promising future ahead of him. Michael liked the footage of every song so much you can be sure to see each one released through his online networks over the next year. We are honoured to call Michael a friend... there's nothing to not like about this guy!

It is an LR Baggs M-1 soundhole pickup. Like those you see on an electric guitar, it helps transfer the audio from the guitar to an amplification system.
