Absolutely, professionals take timeouts when appropriate. They can blow an account too. Psychology is everything. Thanks for the reminder.

The question is probably more about how long it takes(if all goes well) untill you can do it for a living.

If you are always keeping risk under control, meaning you enter each trade with the mindset of risk first, then you become a consistent profitable trader. In the worst case, you would lose little. But the idea that you are one step away from a bad decision is very wrong. As a pro trader, you need to k ow that you cannot risk more than 1% of your portfolio on each trade. So if he lost $2M on one single trade, he either had a bad risk management or a very bad position size or both. Simple rules: dont put more than 10% of your portfolio on each trade and dont risk more than 8% on each trade.

Same question asked "Can one stay healthy consistently?" Sure no. As one ages, there are other health challenges to face.

I do options trading for a living and thats false it all depends on your strategy. Some strategies are extremely consistent winners and small profits. If your tryna win big a lot then this is true.

Buffet was Unprofitable 2 years out of 15, so not everyone can have a sparkling record.
