1930s Wyandotte Folding Wing Airplane Restoration

I purchased this 1930s Wyandotte Folding Wing Airplane as a lot with several other extremely rusty planes. The person I bought them from stated he found them in his grandparents basement in a five gallon bucket that had filled up with water. You can definitely tell that it's had a rough life, but then again, it's 90 years old! I'll be lucky if I make it to 90. This poor little airplane was missing its wheels, and propeller. I researched and found that this model had two color variations. A blue body with red folding wings or a red body with blue folding wings. I decided that I liked the red body better. overall this was a fun little project and it'll go nicely with the rest of the collection. As always, THANK YOU FOR WATCHING! The best thing about this toy is that it leaves a lot to the imagination. That's what makes it so much fun to play with!!

1:27 "Damned hook!" Ha!

Watching rust being sandblasted away so completely and perfectly is one of life's most satisfying experiences.

Loved the restoration. The axles weren’t your best work in my opinion. I figured you would have mushroomed the ends. Still a great restoration though! Love your channel and the sheep!

The beginning when he loaded it up on the little toy trailer was cute. I loved the little junkyard scene in the background

I was going to ask if these toy companies made toy rockets or tanks, then I realized there were no rockets in 1930. Very relaxing to watch. TY.

This might be the worst case of surface rust on a tin i have seen yet. I would imagine that there's not many of those left around. Thank you Chip for keeping it around and looking good👍

You never cease to amaze me, a less talented person would have discarded something that rusted but you always manage to restore these forgotten treasures to pristine condition!

Now then, please tell me that the sheep in the clouds doesn't indicate that they've gone to that great mutton farm in the sky!

Didn't see the sheep in the auto graveyard but I saw an orange merry-go-round horse though 😁
The plane looks amazing 💖

I don’t know where these come from but they wouldn’t normally even qualify as scrap metal. What a fantastic hobby to have to turn trash into treasures. I’m sure if you had an antique toy store you could make a lot of money
