The Gift of Different Kinds of Tongues

This video is part 10 in a Teaching Series on The Gifts of The Holy Spirit. God wants to give His people the Gifts of His Holy Spirit to bring His kingdom to others. The Gift of Different Kinds of Tongues is given to God's people to edify those who speak in it.

*** Debi, I'm 64 and I've had the gift of different kinds of tongues (in 1st Corinthians 12:10) since 2004, and it is the tongues of angels. My brother Dan also has this gift. We can both pray in many different tongues, I have counted 12 different tongues of my gift in one year, and sometimes 2-4 in one day. Angels have always been a very active part of the Christian faith, and God has given us angels to be with us, and in the church through this gift. And 'diversities of tongues' is the same as the gift of 'different kinds of tongues' and it is also a position in the church in 1st Cor 12:28. - In 1st Cor 12:8-10 it says: to one is given one gift, to another is given another gift... so how can they say that this one gift that is given to one person is many people praying in tongues together? Please pray to the Father in the name of Jesus for the truth of this gift! John 16:13 Thank you for this channel, keep up the good work!

I start speaking in tongues 29th of july it sound so weird but i love it i was praying and i start speaking in it and my little son come ask me why i was saying da da da da he dont even understand lol

There are two manifestations of "tongues".1) The initial evidence that a believer has recieved the Holy Spirit.It is a heavenly language and everyone that recieves the Holy Spirit speaks in language.Without exception.The believers spiritual prayer language. 2) The gift of speaking in "tongues" that works together with the gift of interpretation for the edification of the church.When we pray for the Holy Spirit to give ud the goft oof tongues.We pray to be filled with the Spirit and then when we experience it happening we yield our tongue to the Spirit in order for the Spirits' overflowing baptism to occur.When the Spirit takes control of our tongue He will verbally bear witness, in His language, that we have been " born of the Spirit".This is recieving the Holy Spirit.

What does the bible say about this... Christian doctrine and Revelations should only come from the Bible not from a emotional experience, now being Baptized in the Holy Ghost can be emotional, but if the bible doesn't back it up then it's not a biblical based Doctrine of God's church, the believers in Christ...

Pentecostal isn't a sect but the teaching of the Baptism in the Holy Ghost, the Promise of the Father.

(Acts1:4-8 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.)

Then read (Acts2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.)

Many churches of Jesus Christ believe in the Baptism in the Holy Ghost...read Acts 19:1-6 and the Holy Ghost came on them and they spoke in Tongues...has nothing to do with sects and all to do with Jesus.... please read these verses.

19 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

The Holy Ghost was so important to Paul that he took the time with these Jewish men to teach them about it...then laid his hands on them and prayed and they received the Holy Ghost also and spoke in tongues . . .

I could go on and on, but for anybody truly wanting to understand tongues, slain in the spirit, gifts if the spirit, healing through the Holy Spirit, men of God blessed beyond measure, etc these are some great scriptures to start with, though there are many more.

Please, if you do not pray in tongues, does it mean you are not spirit filled?

Not even close Debi, the self edification concerning 1corinthians 14:4 was not positive. True self edification is. Bible reading and prayer are self absorbed activities which is to say you often do them privately. But their effects are often revealed publicly. If you are edifying yourself in a good spiritual way you are edifying the church. The reason the church is not edified by tongues is because the self edification it produces is toxic. Those who counterfeit the gift are only edifying themselves in ways that don't edify the church.
