THE POPE JUST MADE HISTORY 🏳️‍🌈 For the first time ever, a Pope called for the WORLDWIDE DECRIMINAL1ZATION OF HOMOSEXUALITY! This is not everything. He says it’s a “s1n,” which it’s not, but this is a step forward & a powerful message for LGBTQ youth and LGBTQ people worldwide 💝

To clarify the pope is saying “yes it’s a sin” in air-quotes like someone else is saying it. Like: “YeAh BuT iT’s A SiN” and then he replies: Yes, but isn’t not being charitable to your neighbor a sin too? (Saying: aren’t you sinning right now as well)

This is how I feel as a catholic. I get mad at every catholic who blames their religion for homophobia when the pope says this. It has always been like this but no one talks about it.

last night I was at a friend's house, well it was at their aunts house, and to cut a long story short her cousins called me a faggot, a poof, a weirdo, a zoophile, unnatural, etc, because I told them I was lesbian and that it wasn't a big deal. It didn't bother me to the point of tears, but parents got involved and their father is verbally abusive, which explains why the boy was acting like that. It'd been a tough night of yelling and crying, ending with me running to the bathroom so no one saw me have a panic attack accompanied by an emotional breakdown. They ended up going home even though I begged them to stay, the mother was really nice and I seriously didn't want them to go to their father. But they left. When my friends aunt and mother came anf tried comforting me, they didn't really sound like they blamed him. They just said "he's got a lot going on, he was raised by a bad man, I'm so sorry". That doesn't justify what they said to me, what they made me feel. They called me a slut for liking women. They told me to kill myself for liking women. They laughed at me and said "how do you know you like women?" I replied by saying "how do you know you don't like men?". They were on the verge of pulling my hair out, and all the adults could say was "it's not his fault". Right, it's never their fucking fault. 'Hes just a child". I'm just a child. I'm 13 years old. It really fucking hurts.

I am bi and also a believer in God. Not once have I ever bought that being homosexual was an evil act, quite the opposite. I hate seeing fellow believers outright torture, shame, and even kill someone who is in the LGBTQ+ community. I've been afraid to go to church because of these horrible "Christians." God bless the pope for saying what he did. I have hope now things will get better.

People whining that he said being gay is a sin is moronic. You should look at all the other stuff that is a sin.

Such as Divorce, Drinking, Desiring Praise of Men, Being a Coward, Lust, Greed, Hate, Judging, lusting after a woman, pride. Etc.

Sin is what makes us human.

When you think about it, this is exactly what God would want if he hates gay people.

He doesn’t hate anyone, he loves everyone, and he wants everyone to live in his holy way, so they can be in heaven, and if that means not being gay then that’s what he wants. but he doesn’t hate you for it.

Yes!! As a Christian, I do believe that homosexuality is a sin, but the dealth penalty for homosexuality makes me so so sick. My heart goes out to people living in countries like that, it's inhumane

I love how homosexuality is "unnatural" but the technologie we're using right now isnt. Not to mention the fact that homosexuality is completely natural considering homosexuality is recorded in over 400 animal species

I've been going to a private catholic school for about 5 years, and as a trans gay boy I have hearded some of the most hurful shit ever, from everyone, the professors, my classmates (some of them said I deserved the electric chair lmao), even the director. The only one who wasn't openly homophobic or transphobic was the PASTOR, a sweet black man who immigrated from Kenya a while ago, and the only respected superior in the school who wasn't an asshole.

He actually preached love : isn't that what christianity is supposed to be about ?

As a member of the LGBT+ and a guy who opened god into his heart.

I know I'm loved, by the creator of all.

God lead me to my lover, god has made me change my toxic ways by giving me lessons that I learned.

Homosexuality is not a bad thing, but it's a sin to not have charity with each other.

God says to spread love, not hate or harm anyone.

So. He admits “yeah it’s a sin” but doesn’t outright say it’s inherently mega evil.

I have since forgiven this guy. I had a really good guy friend and he was really anti-LGBT his excuse was the Catholic Church is anti-LGBT I was trying to reconnect with him when I became a student at a new community college. I was also kind of a little bit. Happy to know that he was part of the Christian club on the campus of this new community college, he made a generalized assumption and told me that he was trying to help me but I don’t think he realized he didn’t really help me kind of hurt me a lot and goodness gracious me did I cry! Last time I cried that hard it was at the passing of my godfather‘s death when I was 15 years old. That’s the same level amount of crying that I did when he very casually told me and the most polite in Christian sort of way, possible that I shouldn’t even think about joining Christian club . Because it’s not meant for people like me, he could not even say the word bisexual that’s how anti-LGBT he was. He just insinuated the that I was part of the LGBT community fast forward during the pandemic and he has a non-binary son. He had a girlfriend who was my close friend, but I didn’t realize that he had a child with her his girlfriend, my close friend asked me to provide her with help and surprisingly enough he came around to accepting is non-binary FTM son. This whole experience was definitely a learning curve for me, but better yet it taught me a very very incredibly valuable life. Lesson people can change, and now that I actually have this clip it gives me hope because here’s this one childhood friend telling me, his former childhood friend, that I shouldn’t even join the Christian club at my new community college campus insinuating. I am part of the LGBT community you’re not having the guts to say that I’m bisexual here he is wholeheartedly, excepting his transgender son, and he was the pope excepting gay people. If God didn’t put this whole experience in my life to show that people change sometimes for the better, I honestly don’t know why I went through this life experience.
