The Arabesque movement (proper dancer's will tell us we've butchered this!) is an effective way of working on hinge movements in a single leg capacity to also help build dynamic stability.

The emphasis should be on the hip moving in isolation whilst keeping the rest of the body 'squared on' - work to the point of tightness and then return to starting position. Speed and weight are how we progress the movement but don't neglect control.
