Thank you for covering this… I, studied Mid-East Affairs since grad school in 1983-1984… when I heard the Trump Admin wanted to move the Embassy to Jerusalem, I did fact checking. The US is the only Nation with an Embassy in Jerusalem. This causes added security and transportation dollars to meet Israelis and other Nationals stationed in their Embassies in Tel Aviv. It is harder for Israel to provide security to US diplomats… it is waste, fraud and abuse of taxpayer dollars. But, what did we expect from the Trump admin when his idea of Mid-East peace where bilateral agreements, selling high tech US military equip that can be turned against Israel at a moment’s notice by the Saudis, Kuwaitis, UAE and Sudanese leaders when they determine the agreements are only good for toilet paper… and, worse…when a Mid-East summit occurred WITHOUT REPRESENTATION BY PALESTINIAN LEADERS. But, Trump Admin has a trend to ignore homeless Nations, like leaving the Kurds to fend for themselves in Syria and Iraq after serving US overlords.

Jerusalem is not "disputed". PARTS of it are disputed. But the area where Israel has its Knesset and the main residential areas (not including the illegal settlements obviously) are on land that was always part of Israel from its founding. Tel Aviv is NOT the "capital". The international community does not get to decide where Israel chooses to place its capital. The USA places its embassies in capitals all over the world. Israel should be treated no differently.
And by the way, sneezing in the wrong direction enflames tensions over there.
