Always loved this tune from the movie badlands starring Martin Sheen and stacey spibeck. A wonderful piece of music played so well by these young folk.

One of my favorite happy songs is "You're so cool", from Hans Zimmer (True Romance OST) and someone mentioned it is inspired in this piece, so I had to look for it.
It's beautiful how one resembles the other without being a copy. It makes me think Zimmer intended to allude to Badlands too.
Great performance!
Great song!!

I spent years searching for this piece after hearing the soundtrack to Badlands back in 1973, thank you for this excellent and moving rendition.

Very Cool. Bravo the performers. I just showed this to my three young daughters, they were bouncing around the room to it. Its one of those pieces so often used as incidental music in documentaries etc - especially for up lifting scenes and you can see why. Congrats again.

Sublime music and a joyous performance.  There are several recordings on YouTube, but this is by far the best.  I just listened to it six times in a row and could have kept going.  What wonderful sounds these little xylophones created, and the pacing and ensemble were perfect.  When I recently heard the piece(s) before finding this video,  I tried to pick out how many xylophones were playing.  The harmonies are so luscious.  I also loved the tympanist's flair -- he was into it.  Everyone was wonderful, and the "optics" of the young people and their varied outfits added immensely to the fun.  Building on someone else's earlier comment, there was nothing mechanical about the repetition,  only an awakening of warm feelings.  Thank you, Michael, for posting this tape, and Bravo!  Your standing ovation was well deserved.  Guess I'll listen to it again.

This is one of those songs I've heard now & again over the years, but never knew what it was. Thanks to a late night showing of "Finding Forrester", and my smart phone, I now know the name, and ran across this video. Well done, thanks!
