Pro tip: instead of sailing from key location to final location once u get the key cancel the quest(make sure u got the checkpoint) and dive to the checkpoint and u will automatically be at the vault island(the key will spawn on captain table) this skips the long sailing in the quest.

Thank you! very nice guide, protip for anyone who made the same mistake as me and forgot the journals, use the return to ship statues, and then use the statue at the entrance to the dungeon to go back inside near the beginning, this will also let you do each path in one go of the tall tale

Fast way if you're JUST here for the books and you've already completed it several times.

1) Complete any of the doors
2) Once you reach the chest, don't take it. Instead just move forward till you see a statue and return to your ship.
3) Swim back down to the entrance
4) Entrance will be closed, use the statue next to entrance to "Rejoin crew" and you will spawn back inside. This will allow you to go through the other two remaining doors

Bro I got so pissed cuz I was doing the 2nd path and got too caught up in doing it and not watching the video and missed the book so I just had to go back in just to do that
