Disney really missed out using Marilyn's vocals for an animated feature. Absolutely lovely voice.

Norma Jean was a warm, generous and kind hearted soul.

Who knew she had such a sweet singing voice?!! All this time I thought she could barely sing, and just got by with being breathy and girly. I absolutely love this❤

When Mr South Wind sighs in the pines,
Old Mr Winter whimpers and whines.
Down in the meadow, under the snow,
April is teaching green things to grow.
When Mr West Wind howls in a glade,
Old Mr Summer nods in the shade.
Down in the meadow, deep in the brook,
Catfish are waiting for the hook.
Old Lady Blackbird flirts with the scarecrow,
Scarecrow is waving at the moon.
Old Mr Moon makes hearts everywhere go bump, bump,
With the magic of June.
When Mr East Wind shouts over head,
Then all the leaves turn yellow and red.
Down in the meadow corn stocks are high
Pumpkins are ripe and ready for pie.
Old Lady Blackbird flirts with the scarecrow,
Scarecrow's waving at the Moon.
Old Mr Moon makes hearts everywhere go bump-bump
With the magic of June.
When Mr North Wind rolls on the breeze,
Old father Christmas trims over trees.
Down in the meadow snow shoftly gleams
Earth goes to sleep and smiles in her dreams.

I think that this role - characterful and in a way motherly - is a role that she really enjoyed playing.

Her usual role of the silly blonde's was her comedic persona, she was briliant comedian. But was probably by time a curse for her because people didn't take her as a role. It's good that she had at least a small chance to show another side of herself.

I WAS BORN TO LOVE YOU (C)2006

I WAS JUST SEVENTEEN.
YOU WERE JUST A MOVIE QUEEN.
AND I WAS BORN TO LOVE YOU.

I DON'T KNOW WHO YOU REALLY ARE.
I JUST KNOW YOU AS A SUPERSTAR.
AND THERE'S NO ONE ELSE QUITE LIKE YOU.

YOU DRIVE A MERCEDES-BENZ.
I SUPPOSE YOU'VE GOT LOTS OF FRIENDS.
WHO SAY THEY'D LOVE TO LOVE YOU.

OUR LOVE WAS MEANT TO BE.
OH MY LADY CAN'T YOU SEE THAT.
I WAS BORN TO LOVE YOU.

I WAS TAKEN BY YOUR POWER.
A LONG LONG TIME AGO.
FROM WHICH THERE'S NO ESCAPE.
WHICH LEAVES NO PLACE TO GO.

SO I'M TRAPPED WITHIN YOUR EYES.
CAPTURED BY YOUR SMILE.
SURROUNDED BY YOUR REAF
WHICH EXTENDS SO MANY MILES.

I WAS JUST SEVENTEEN .
YOU WERE JUST A MOVIE QUEEN.
AND I WAS BORN TO LOVE YOU.

Percussive heartbeat imitations

1:01 Marilyn Monroe's percussives, suggestion of a heartbeating in the lyrics.
6/1/56---JUNE 0:58 4/27/56---APRIL 0:25 "Down in the Meadow" finale---"smiles in her dream." Dream smiling witness?!?!

Her guitar playing looked totally believable. She couldn't play it but made it look realistic--bravo!
