Changing focusing screen on Nikon D40

Here is my focusing screen changing experience.

Bought an old d3300 and being a beginner the focus was super slow, turns out this part needed to be cleaned and since there's no camera repair store close to where i live this video helped a tons! Thanks!

I just followed the same steps for a D600 and it's very similar. There was an extra metallic frame that came off with the original focus screen, and I just made sure to tuck it back in with the new one.

I tried to do this but the metal frame kept coming loose and the view through the eyehole was blurry. Any tips?

Tanks so much !!! I just clean the mirror and put some hair and dust on the fosing screen and stressed so much all the time and after cleaning it i forgot to put the metallic frames under the focusing screen !!!
Because of stress !!
Your vidéo help me to put all back at Its place and take back focusing correct work !!

I am unable to fix the wire frame which holds the lens in place. Do I push down on the frame or push the frame in?

I am trying to find a way to hold mine in place. The little lock tab that holds the wire secure has snapped off. Found the lens and shim laying in the camera. I might need to glue it in place.

Hi, In my viewfinder I see like if there was a drop of water in the center focus point, I haven't noticed anything wrong in the photos or with the focus, should I be worried?
