"Americans' average confidence in major U.S. institutions has edged down after increasing modestly several months into the coronavirus pandemic last year. Currently, an average 33% of U.S. adults express "a great deal" or "quite a lot" of confidence in 14 institutions, marking a three-percentage-point dip since 2020 and a return to the level seen in 2018 and 2019."

I remember the moment I went from having some trust for the corporate media to having none...it was a culmination that solidified when I watched CNN ask softball questions of all the democratic candidates, then viciously attack Bernie in the most dishonest, disgusting way possible. Even Steven Colbert attacked him in a despicable way when Bernie went on his show (I stopped watching Colbert after that). The corporate media are cheerleaders for the corporatocracy and will stop at nothing to smear anyone who wants to reign in corporate greed and create a more equitable, sustainable society. Plus they ignored or lied about climate change for 40+ years, putting us 40 years behind where we could be now.

😢 Why does it feel like the division in the US is worse now than ever before? I’m old and I swear it was never like this. It’s like you have to choose sides on everything now and no matter which side you choose, you’re contributing more to the division! Where you live, work, go to school, what you believe, car you drive, gender you choose, food you eat, news you follow, who you hang out with, masks, vaccines……. Oh my goodness! Please bring back the good old restful days. No those old days weren’t perfect but at least things didn’t seem this bad 😢
