Carla Hassett - Change (Official Video)

2020 felt like one earth-shaking chaotic event after another. When the streets of my neighborhood burned for days while folks protested George Floyd's murder at the hands of police, I felt hopeful that change might finally come. I thought, so many voices raised had to make a difference, and I wanted to speak to those voices, to my own voice, and say "keep going, keep fighting. Change takes time, but it comes when insisted on." This video speaks to the present, from voices of the past, in hopes of a better future. I made it with love and deep respect for those who suffer, and with a profound love for musicians who tell all the stories and make the world a little more bearable.
