He's only commented on this once and then moved beyond it. He said he didn't want to perform the song they made him sing so i believe he was set up for failure on this show.
His parents have always said that he may listen politely but he will never be moved aside from the path he has set for himself.

Доброго вечера вам, уважаемый поклонник творчества ДИМАША ! Это был единственный конкурс, где члены жюри оказались против ДИМАША ! Но это жизнь, и от такого случая встречи с некомпетентными людьми никто не застрахован ! Главное, что ДИМАШ человек с сильным духом и прекрасно знает, чтО и кАк ему петь , к чему стремиться . И он доказал это, участвуя в других конкурсах Казакстана и конкурсах за пределами родной страны ! В Казакстане народ любит и уважает его, гордится его достижениями и неизменно говорит, что ДИМАШ послан нам Всевышним для того, чтобы и наш народ в числе других народов внес свой вклад в мировую сокровищницу искусства .

I saw this same video with English translation, and those judges were so harsh and critical on Dimash. Not just commenting on his use of his voice, mixed or otherwise. They criticized him about his hair, how close he held his microphone… etc. But, yes, Dimash decided that he was going to go on singing the way he wants to and these judges can go jump in the lake.

It goes to show the strength of his character. His voice teacher in school in an interview talked about how Dimash would be singing in his higher countertenor range when he wasn’t in the room and then when he heard the teacher coming down the hall Dimash would stop and start singing lower. His teacher would scold him. I think these things only pushed him more. Some people would not be able to cope with the criticism and discouragement but Dimash is not like anyone else. God Bless his strength of character because we all can now benefit from having him enrich our lives now

Did you know that Dimash was invited to take part in the U.S. competition World’s Best? He got to the final three before finding out the other two were children. In the Kazakh culture, adults don’t compete with children, they don’t want their dreams crushed. So he sang the prepared song and asked to say a few words through an interpreter. He thanked everyone for giving him the opportunity, but was withdrawing from the contest so the two little ones could go forward. The prize was one million dollars and Dimash had every chance of winning that but he has enormous integrity. He then had to stand there while judges like Ru Paul berated him, saying he knew what he was getting in to. Dimash stood there respectfully but stuck to his principles. It is all on you tube for anyone to see.
