In this video I show off the new standalone game Free Ride USA by 2F Spiele, and Rio Grande Games. It’s a train game (like Ticket to Ride)designed by Friedemann Friese (Power Grid). I show you an overview of the gameplay to learn the rules.

I 3d printed some stations and numbers to do the same as you do with the dice for the original. Such an aid is critical to make it playable easily with most people. They really should have added it into this version (even just cardboard tokens). It is quite fun with that aid even at 5 player (though 3p or 4p is better). Thanks.

Seems like a perfect Etsy opportunity to 3-D print different colored train stations.

I bought the original Europe Free Ride based on your recommendation and others since I enjoy train themed games. I’ve only recently played the original as solo play through to see how hard it is or not to find the cities with a goal of color coding them by region. Then, I found out the USA version was to be released soon. Even the artwork is far more appealing to me than the Europe artwork. Need to decide if I take the plunge to get this version too. I like the idea of color coding the routes as in solo play it was a long play to find the cities and compare the routes to choose from. I think my game group which enjoys the Ticket to Ride Franchise will definitely enjoy Free Ride.

I also own and enjoy the original. It’s too bad this version didn’t include dice or other equivalent markers. It’s hard to justify owning both. It’s probably best I save my money for other FF releases. 😉

Finally!!!! \🐱/

Question: I know I'll need 4 dice for each colour, but how many colors at max will I need to have?

I have never found it difficult playing the original, but that is probably because I now my european geography pretty well and can pretty much just point at every city without needing to think about it, hence everyone who plays with me finds them quickly too. I suspect that I would have the problem with this map though, since my knowledge of US city locations is pretty limited.

WTF! I live in Tampa not Orlando! Tampa is a major railroad hub not, Orlando and they are not on the coast!
