Starbucks was far from the worst corporate actor, and they kept nonunion by extending protections and benefits to their employees that rivaled unions.
The fact that employees are now seeking union representation is a signal that management has fallen off in their efforts to be more attractive than the perceived security of a union.
If they fight, they run the risk of loosing more stores and giving the brand a black eye.
It’s time to talk contract.
