My Turn - John Mascardo (#ThisIsMiPerformance)

Today, I performed my original song "My Turn" today for #ThisIsMi to help with awareness for Mental Health and help uplift others to RISE above their struggles and learn to FLY (First Love Yourself!) I'll be touching on my own personal story and journey and how I started rising above my own struggles. Through losing my older brother (Kuya @rayrayallday) with his battle with Cancer/Leukemia, to ending a meaningful 8 year relationship with a beautiful person that helped shape me into the man I am today (Thank you for everything we've shared, I always wish for your true happiness), and especially through losing my dad shortly after that breakup due to his heart condition that lead to a stroke & brain aneurysm causing our family to lose him abruptly. This was my journey of life & lessons learned, this is my story of heartbreak, loss, grief & depression within the last three years, but in retrospect, it is also my story of conquering, overcoming, persisting & rising. Through Faith In God, and never-ending support from Family and Friends, because of you all, I want to continue to inspire others that you can draw inspiration from your struggles and moments of defeat and rise above it all to make an even more beautiful story for yourself. As my friend @tazzavalaofficial from Netflix's @westside said: There's Beauty In Your Struggle. Babygirl, you couldn't be more right! Life is beautiful, life is what we make it; stand tall and strong and help others rise, be that change you want to see in the world. Thanks for inviting me to this special event, @souljouer!
