#ilovervlife #hayhouse #macontours We had the very fortunate opportunity the visit the Hay House located in Macon, GA. We were provided a private tour and were able to visit 7 floors of this amazing house. The Jonston-Felton-Hay House was constructed between 1855 and 1859 and declared a National Historic Landmark in 1974. This 18,000 square foot mansion was built in the Italian Renaissance Revival style and had many amenities that were very unique for the mid-1800's including hot and cold running water, central heat, gas lighting, central heat, in-house kitchen and a state of the art ventilation system.

Our tour started in the basement and proceeded throughout this amazing structure culminating at the very top with a walk around the 7th floor widow's walk offering amazing views of downtown Macon.

My Goodness, what a beautiful house....I esp. loved those huge front will need to take this tour for myself, someday....as I have a mother-in-law and sister-in-law, living in Warner Robbins.... Thank you, so much....👏👏 Since Macon did sustain some damage during the Civil War, it's wonderful that the (Hay) house escaped that fate... I know there are houses there that did suffer some damage...

thanks for graciously taking your precious time to share this delightful peace of history. It has piqued my curiosity. since you haved two different rv roofs, you said in an earlier video that pc was easier and cooler and easier to clean than the rubber roof. you still feel that way after years of using them thanks have a safe, healthy, anf joyful journey ahead

It's a beautiful place. I'm from Macon also and in Elementary School we went on many tours of the Hay House. I wish they would've showed the grand staircase af and the elevator.

Jerry, love watching these documentary videos and your home town! I'm definitely gonna have to visit sometime in the future when we head down that way for an all out excursion in Macon Ga. Your documentaries of these historical places and businesses to visit and see, are out of this world. Thanks for all your hard work on these videos you and Joel have shared, with great narrative info. Take care stay safe and have fun while traveling! Blessings to you and your family Jerry and Joel!

Very nice video of a stunning antebellum mansion. You were very fortunate to have visited the cupola because it's usually off limits to visitors (the spiral staircase is narrow, steep and treacherous). Decades ago my girlfriend was a docent at the Hay House when we were studying at Mercer and she always told me spooky stories about Mary Ellen Johnston, the resident ghost. We would also visit Mary Ellen's grave at the Johnston-Bond crypt down on the river at Rose Hill Cemetery. Did you happen to experience any parts of the mansion that felt ice cold? Did you capture anything unusual on your video? Thanks again for your tour of my favorite house located in one of the most beautiful cities in America.

We toured a couple houses in Macon, but not that one. Been to a couple of Rally's in Perry, plus one trip I did family research across Central Georgia.
